چکیده
Abstract Artificial Gravity generated by Short Arm Human Centrifuges is a promising multi-system countermeasure for physiological deconditioning during long duration space flights. To allow continuous assessment of cardiovascular hemodynamics centrifugation, telerobotic robotic system holding an ultrasound probe has been installed on Centrifuge. A feasibility study was conducted to define the use capabilities and limitations such novel method. The objective this estimate reproducibility precision remotely controlled vascular under centrifugation assessing peripheral diameter wall distension. Four repeated runs 5 min, with 2.4 g at feet level, were performed including 15 min rest between each run group eight healthy male volunteers. Vascular distention assessed common carotid artery (CCA) femoral (FA) imaging using 10 MHz linear array (Mylab1, Esaote). Ultrasound measurements consecutively performed: a) expert user in hand-held mode standing as well supine position, b) arm without baseline c) centrifugation. responses compared Inter-, intra-registration variability have examination. results show that variability, ? h , always smaller than inter-registration m turned inter-subject ( < ). Centrifugation caused no significant changes CCA but lower distension manual position p 0.05). Femoral significantly decreased hypergravity sonography good could be demonstrated. In conclusion, arterial dynamics can precisely measurement system. Potential improvements further enhance safety are discussed.

To elucidate the pure impact of microgravity on small mammals despite uncontrolled factors that exist in the International Space Station, it is necessary to construct a 1 g environment in space. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency has developed a novel mouse habitat cage unit that can be installed in the Cell Biology Experiment Facility in the Kibo module of the International Space Station. ...
متن کاملThe Influence of Gravity on Cardiorespiratory Regulation: a Comparison of Short-duration Spaceflight and the Esa Short- Arm Human Centrifuge
Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia (RSA), usually the high frequency (HF) component of heart rate variability (HRV), is a cardiorespiratory interaction mediated by the vagus nerve. RSA is thus considered a marker of the parasympathetic modulation of heart rate. Previous studies reported decrease in RSA after spaceflight. Whether this can be due to autonomic adaption to microgravity or only result fro...
متن کاملa study on thermodynamic models for simulation of 1,3 butadiene purification columns
attempts have been made to study the thermodynamic behavior of 1,3 butadiene purification columns with the aim of retrofitting those columns to more energy efficient separation schemes. 1,3 butadiene is purified in two columns in series through being separated from methyl acetylene and 1,2 butadiene in the first and second column respectively. comparisons have been made among different therm...
